Hungarian health-care workers to see 72 pc pay rise by 2022, says ministry
The wage hikes initiated by the government in the health-care sector in 2018 will result in a 72 percent wage increase for health-care workers by 2022, the human resources ministry said on Monday.
Responding to a statement by the MESZK employees’ chamber, the ministry said that over the past six years the government had done more to help health-care workers than any past administration.
In 2019, the government fast-tracked an 8 percent wage hike for doctors and nurses, it said.
A 14 percent wage increase implemented in January this year covered some 81,000 doctors and 4,000 nurses, the ministry added.
Next month nurses and skilled health-care workers will receive another 20 percent wage hike which will be followed by a 30 percent increase in January 2022, the statement said.
