The Iranian conflict could trigger a wave of migration, György Bakondi, the prime minister’s chief domestic security advisor, said on Wednesday, adding that the terror threat level has been raised and the protection of critical infrastructure must be increased.

If refugees leave Iran, they can reach the Hungarian border via Turkiye and the Balkans route, Bakondi told public news channel M1. The security risk, he added, had also risen due to Iran’s support of Islamic fundamentalist groups across the world.

This is why the terror threat level has been raised and the protection of critical infrastructure has been enhanced, Bakondi said.

The chief advisor said the “era of dangers” had arrived and this required effective government measures. The government, he said, was doing everything possible to guarantee the supply and security of the population.
