Saudi low-cost carrier Flynas will launch direct flights between Riyadh and Budapest this summer, restoring a non-stop air connection between the Hungarian and Saudi capitals during the peak travel season.
Three weekly flights between Saudi Arabia and Hungary
According to aviation news portal AIRportal.hu and airline industry page Budflyer, the new seasonal service will operate three times a week from 26 June until 30 September 2026.
The flights will run on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays under flight numbers XY369 and XY370. The inbound service from Riyadh is scheduled to arrive in Budapest at 10:40 AM, while the return flight will depart the Hungarian capital at 11:30 AM.
The route will be operated using Airbus A320neo aircraft, part of the rapidly expanding Flynas fleet. The Saudi carrier currently operates 61 Airbus A320neo jets, alongside six Airbus A320-200s and two Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
Budapest Airport expands Middle East connections
The announcement marks another step in the expansion of air links between Hungary and the Middle East. Budflyer noted that discussions were recently held between representatives of Budapest Airport and Saudi stakeholders regarding the development of air connectivity between the two countries.
Without the Flynas service, there would have been no scheduled direct flights between Hungary and Saudi Arabia during the 2026 summer timetable.
Meanwhile, Wizz Air is reportedly planning to relaunch its Budapest–Jeddah route during the winter season, strengthening Hungary’s connections with Saudi Arabia even further.

Growing tourism and business potential
The new Riyadh route is expected to support both tourism and business travel between the two countries. Saudi Arabia has increasingly focused on expanding international tourism as part of its Vision 2030 economic diversification strategy, while Budapest continues to attract growing numbers of visitors from the Gulf region.
The direct flights could also make Hungary more accessible for Saudi tourists seeking European city breaks and wellness tourism opportunities.
