A worker at Hungary’s National Ambulance Service headquarters has died after falling from the building’s seventh floor in Budapest. Police say there is currently no suspicion of foul play, while the circumstances of the fatal incident are being investigated.
A tragic incident occurred at the headquarters of Hungary’s National Ambulance Service (OMSZ) on Thursday, when one of the organisation’s employees fell from the building’s seventh floor and died.
The incident was first reported by ATV, which contacted the National Ambulance Service for information. The organisation confirmed the death but said that the exact circumstances were still being investigated.
“The circumstances of the incident are currently being clarified. The National Ambulance Service stands by the family of our deceased colleague and the ambulance service community, and will provide them with all necessary support.”
The organisation did not disclose further details about what happened before the fatal fall.
Police rule out foul play for now
The Budapest Police Headquarters (BRFK) told Telex that there is currently no suspicion of foul play in connection with the death. Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident as part of an administrative authority procedure. No further details have been released at this stage.
It is therefore not yet known whether the death was the result of an accident or whether other circumstances contributed to the fatal fall. The National Ambulance Service has meanwhile expressed its support for the deceased employee’s family and colleagues following the tragedy.

Authorities are expected to establish the exact circumstances of the incident as their investigation progresses. For now, officials have provided no information about what happened immediately before the employee fell from the seventh floor.
Unfortunately, this was not the first fatal accident recently. Last week, a seven-year-old boy died after falling from the tenth floor of a block of flats in Szeged. Police are also investigating the circumstances of that incident. The investigation into the death at the National Ambulance Service headquarters remains ongoing.
