After Will Smith’s Gemini Man Budapest provides the venue for a Hollywood superstar movie again because Scarlett Johansson is making her new Marvel film in the Hungarian capital.

The film is going to debut this May, and it can be regarded as a promotion of Budapest since many renowned buildings of the Hungarian capital appear in the different scenes. For example, the fights and the explosions happen near the Bálna Budapest, the Gellért hill, the Chain Bridge and the famous Parliament – 24.hu reported. Below you can watch the trailer of the movie in which a lot of familiar places can be recognised from Budapest:

We already know about the plot that it happens between Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the third part of the Avengers trilogy (Infinity War). However, nobody knows what role the supervillain will play in the film which is portrayed by David Harbour. The filming took place in Norway, Budapest, Morocco, Pinewood Studios in England, and Macon, Georgia.

Furthermore, it seems that 2020 will be the year of Scarlett Johansson. Apart from getting her first solo superhero movie in May,

she was nominated to the Academy Award

in two categories (best actress and best supporting actress) and she can easily win both of them.

We reported before about Scarlett Johansson that – according to Bors, a Hungarian magazine – she said before the local elections about István Tarlós, former Lord Mayor of Budapest, that he is a professional leader with 30 years of experience. Since Mr Tarlós was the candidate of Fidesz, the rightist media immediately said that she expressed her support towards the 71-year-old former leader.

However, Ms Johansson cleared that she did not do so. “I would like to clarify the situation – despite various media reports, I did not express my support to Mayor István Tarlós for the upcoming municipal elections. During our private conversation,

I just shared my sincere appreciation for Budapest’s hospitality, beauty and charm.

Only citizens of Budapest are authorized to choose the next Mayor, and this is a very important decision. An election is a heroic action everywhere where democracy is in danger. I urge all citizens of Budapest to be brave and act as a hero, and vote according to his/her conscience” – the Black Widow said then.

Tarlós later said the same as Ms Johansson and emphasised that nobody asked any of the journalists from his team to write that the Hollywood celebrity expressed her support towards him.
